LIFE through THE BLOG

sam and BoB

It's safe to say I have a serious soft spot when it comes to a fox red lab... so you can bet your bottom dollar I had a little party inside  when Sam told me her gorgeous boy Bob.  There really is just something about that that autumnal glow in a gorgeous woodland which as a photographer, truly makes my heart sing!

When I first spoke to Sam during her pre-shoot consultation it was clear that she, like many of us country folk, was apprehensive about stepping foot in front of the camera for the first time and expressed that the photoshoot was to mostly be centred around Bob with just a handful of the two of them together for memories sake. All I can say is Sam and Bob you absolutely smashed it, with a bit of convincing not only did we get lots of beautiful images of Bob but gorgeous shots of the two of them together too.

Sam has had Bob since a puppy which she bought during lockdown, she confessed he had picked up a few bad habits over this time but she has been working with professional gun dog trainer, Andy Bluffield over the last year and it is safe to say the training has definitely paid off. Bob was an absolute super star!

His behaviour was impeccable-every pose, every sit and every retrieve was perfect. He's such a precious boy, I was really hoping I could pop him in the car and take him home with me. Trust me, if I could I really would.

Sam left the photoshoot knowing they had both totally smashed it but still wasn't prepared for the results when she came back to see the images. She was truly blown away by the results, her reaction made me smile and really reminded me why I do what I do  'I adore them, I even love the photographs with myself in too and I always hate photographs of me normally!'.

This just shows that no matter how nervous you may be about stepping foot in front of the camera, with the right preparation and a professional photographer who knows how to pose naturally you really are in safe hands.

Hey or should I say hay!

I'm Sophie,  rural life photographer and lover of all things country and horses.
Creating beautiful photographs of you and the four legged love of your life is my absolute passion. As a keen horsewoman from the age of 3 years old, I can hand on heart say that horses are my favourite thing on this earth, closely followed by my love of capturing the connection between animals and their humans . I adore being out in the fresh air, enjoying all things country from tweed and fashion to long walks and views. Tell me more...
