hey, I'm Sophie

Rural life photographer and lover of all things country and horses!

I grew up on my family farm, surrounded by livestock and four-legged friends, so photographing animals and the people who love them feels like home to me.

Most days are spent in jodhpurs or waterproofs, covered in mud and hay — so when it comes to your photoshoot, I love making sure you feel special. Let’s have a really fun day, capturing your lifestyle and I’ll make sure you look relaxed, confident, and genuinely beautiful whilst we do so.

My journey into rural wedding photography came organically through working with country people and being asked to photograph their weddings. I’ve been doing it for around seven years now, and it’s very much my thing. A marquee in a field or at a beautiful venue, with cows over the hedge or sheep nearby, is my idea of a perfect wedding.

Sophie’s approach was very welcoming, making me feel at ease during the shoot and being really patient (as we need to be with horses!) The shoot itself was really good fun, and it was all really natural, and chilled out.

The entire experience was second to none. From the first call we made to organise the shoot, Sophie was very welcoming and gave me plenty of ideas on what to wear, what to expect on the day, as well as possible locations for the shoot to take place. The actual shoot was really good fun! She made me feel comfortable and it was all very chilled, making the experience a memory I will never forget, especially as the shoot was a gift for my birthday as I was selling my pony, which made it all the more meaningful. When we first saw the photos, I honestly couldn’t have imagined them to be any better. The connection I had with my mare really shone through with Sophie’s amazing talent to capture the special bond we had. From start to finish the experience was faultless.

I would thoroughly recommend Sophie to anyone considering having a shoot, (it would also make a brilliant gift) and wants to make memories that will last a lifetime, thank you again Sophie for my absolutely stunning photos xx

Sophie is not only very professional but also, able to put you all at ease and feel relaxed and comfortable. I have two older children who were reluctant at first to be included in the photo shoot as they didn't want to be 'posing'. Sophie made it a great relaxed family morning out with an absolutely fantastic outcome. We all enjoyed the experience and didn't feel embarrassed or awkward at all. Sophie was very patient with the dogs and continued to persevere with them throughout the morning to achieve photos she knew we would be over the moon with. Can't thank Sophie enough for the very special photos that only make us all smile every time we look at them but made me cry as they are so beautiful.

On the day Sophie made us all feel at ease and was very chatty making us all feel very comfortable. We all had a beautiful family walk around Ashton Court. Sophie is very professional and swift at taking the pictures. It felt like we were just out on a family walk in a stunning location. The whole morning just felt very natural which transpires in the photos. Sophie is an AMAZING photographer but very chilled which is a fantastic combination. We couldn't have asked for better photos than we received. The photos are ABSOLUTELY stunning and now me and my husband have the best Christmas present ever with beautiful memories to treasure forever.

We ABSOLUTELY recommend Sophie, she is a first class Photographer. Friends and family are totally in awe of our photos, and we continue to get compliments from anyone that sees them. Thank you Sophie from the bottom of our hearts for our beautiful photos to treasure.

Sophie was simply amazing. She took the time before the photoshoot to explain her approach and offered some really useful styling recommendations. The most important of these was to wear clothes that worked with the horses colours and were fun, and not to be tempted to attire in jodhs and riding boots. Dresses and fun outfits were all fun! She also had the coolest app that made a mare whinny noise which was hilarious. Hamilton is still looking for the girl, and looked absolutely beautiful all the time.

Fun, rewarding, and so valuable because I now have lasting memories of my two boys. Sophie has a real talent as she photographed from some distance away, and was very clever to capture so many special moments. My 27 year old TB looked 10 years younger, and she showed us the value of some of the pictures in black and white. Her final selection viewing was brilliant too, and she was very patient as we tried to select the top ten!

If you want lasting memories that capture the beauty of these special beasts, then Sophie is the best. Look no further.

We booked Sophie for our upcoming wedding next year and as part of the package we had an engagement shoot included. This just confirmed that we had 100% made the right choice on who was going to be photographing our big day!

Right from the start Sophie made us feel so relaxed and at ease, the little extra details like sending us pre shoot info with little tips on just shows how passionate she is about what she does - every little detail is thought of!
