The first wedding of the season couldn’t have been a more perfect way to begin — and what a gorgeous day we had celebrating Tom & Millie.

Millie was originally one of my equine clients before becoming such a lovely friend, so being asked to capture such a close and intimate chapter of their lives felt incredibly special from the very beginning. Knowing the people you photograph on a personal level always adds something extra meaningful to the day, and Tom & Millie’s wedding was full of warmth, emotion, and genuine love from start to finish.

The morning began with a wonderfully relaxed bridal prep. There was such a calm atmosphere throughout the morning; no rushing, no stress, just excitement and laughter as everyone got ready for the day ahead. Meanwhile, my second photographer Lucy, aka Mum — spent some time with the groomsmen at the pub, capturing a few moments with the boys before we all made our way to the ceremony.

Tom & Millie tied the knot at Taunton Registry Office, surrounded by all of their nearest and dearest. The ceremony was beautiful, emotional, and full of heartfelt moments as the couple exchanged rings and officially became husband and wife. These two are so clearly made for each other, and the love in the room was impossible to miss. From proud smiles to happy tears, every single person there could feel just how special their connection is.

After the ceremony, we made our way back towards The Duck at Burtle for the celebrations — but not before stopping off for some quiet time and couple portraits. I always encourage couples to take this little pause in the day together. Weddings can fly by so quickly, and this time away from the crowd allows couples to relax, decompress, and really check in with one another before heading back to the party. It also gave us the chance to capture some gorgeous, natural moments between the two of them.

When we arrived back at The Duck at Burtle, we were greeted with cool drinks, evening sunshine, and the most relaxed atmosphere imaginable. Guests spent the afternoon enjoying a delicious hog roast in the garden while soaking up the beautiful weather and celebrating with friends and family.

As the sun began to set, the celebrations carried on into an incredible evening party complete with a fantastic live band that kept the dance floor full all night long. It was the perfect ending to such a joyful, love-filled day.

Tom & Millie — thank you for trusting me to capture your wedding day. It was an absolute privilege to document such a special celebration, and I honestly couldn’t have wished for a better wedding to kick off the season with.
