This pre-wedding photoshoot with Tom and Millie was one of those sessions that felt like catching up with old friends rather than work—and those are always my favourite.


I first met Millie years ago through Young Farmers, and then again for an equine shoot back in 2020. So when she got back in touch to ask me to photograph her wedding in 2026, I was so excited. Now, with just a year to go until the big day, it felt like the perfect time to plan their pre-wedding shoot and ease into the journey ahead.

We chose Shapwick Nature Reserve for their session, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Set in the heart of Somerset, the reserve was glowing with spring sunshine—soft light filtering through the trees, lush green ferns lining the paths, and that calm, peaceful atmosphere that instantly puts you at ease.



We spent the shoot wandering through the reserve, chatting, laughing, and having the biggest catch-up while also talking all things wedding plans. Pre-wedding shoots are about so much more than just photos—they’re a chance to get comfortable in front of the camera, learn how I work, and most importantly, enjoy some relaxed time together before the whirlwind of the wedding day.

This session was also the perfect opportunity to try out poses they might want to recreate on the wedding day. And yes—we practised the dip.


Trust me on this one… it absolutely takes practice!


Trying things like this beforehand means that on the wedding day it feels natural, confident, and stress-free.

Tom and Millie were completely at ease together, and that connection shines through in the images—playful, romantic, and full of genuine warmth. With spring light dancing through the trees and the gentle woodland setting around us, the whole shoot felt effortless and full of joy.


If this session is anything to go by, their wedding in 2026 is going to be something really special.

And I honestly can’t wait to be part of it. 🌿☀️💍
