RELAXED, NATURAL & PROFESSIONAL
“Sophie has been amazing from start to finish. From the moment we met she made me feel at ease, and took the time to find out more about us and the horses to bring out the best in us in the photos. She has been professional throughout the experience and kept in touch regularly throughout the planning process and once the shoot was complete.
Her natural approach to the shoot was everything we wanted and I’m blown away with the quality of the photos. The viewing of the photos was a really special touch and made the whole experience extremely personalised.
I would highly recommend Sophie (and already have!) to all my yard friends. Her friendly nature and professionalism is second to none and the quality of her photos and editing speaks for itself. I’m so impressed with how she captured such beautiful and soft moments, even with tricky horses! The whole process has been a delight and Sophie has made us feel very special.”
-Terri Reed
Terri’s shoot was one of those sessions that felt calm, meaningful, and deeply personal from the very beginning. Set at her gorgeous rustic livery yard near Ilminster, the setting couldn’t have been more perfect—weathered wood, open space, and that quiet countryside atmosphere that instantly puts both people and horses at ease.
Terri’s partner and her lovely Mum also joined in, making the shoot feel even more special. Including family added another layer to the story—support, pride, and shared love for the horses and the life Terri has built around them. Those moments, quietly standing together in the yard or sharing a smile over the horses, are some of my favourites from the session.
This shoot was all about celebrating Terri’s bond with her two horses, each so different yet equally special. Riley, her older bay mare, brought a sense of steadiness and quiet wisdom, while Nash, her young chestnut gelding, added curiosity, energy, and a touch of cheekiness. Photographing them together really told the story of where Terri’s journey has been—and where it’s heading next.
We kept everything very relaxed and natural, allowing the horses to just be. No pressure, no forced moments—just gentle direction and plenty of time. That approach meant we could capture soft expressions, small interactions, and those fleeting connections that say far more than any posed portrait ever could.
Even with the occasional “tricky horse moment” (as there always is!), the shoot flowed beautifully. Patience, understanding, and reading each horse as an individual made all the difference—and resulted in images that feel soft, honest, and full of heart.
This was a shoot rooted in connection: between owner and horse, family and place. Terri’s livery yard isn’t just where her horses live—it’s a part of her story, and I feel incredibly grateful to have been able to capture it for her in such a personal way. 🐎✨
