This spring photoshoot in May with John, Evie and little Thea was one of those sessions that truly felt like stepping into the heart of a family story. Shot on their beautiful family farm in Chilton Trinity, every corner of this land holds meaning—and it was such a privilege to capture it for them.
John and Evie moved back to the family farm last year, returning to the place that has shaped generations before them. For John, it meant being reunited with his first loves—his tractors, the JCB, and his herd of beef cattle. But it’s more than just a working farm; it’s home in the deepest sense of the word. John’s grandparents lived in the farmhouse for 70 years, and his great-grandparents before them, creating a legacy that runs through the fields, buildings, and gardens.
Surrounded by orchards, gardens, and open land, it’s a dream setting for family life—and especially for Thea, who has endless space to run riot and explore. Watching her wander confidently down tracks, peek through orchard trees, and take everything in was a joy.
These are the kinds of surroundings that childhood memories are made of.
The farm is woven into so many of this family’s milestones. It’s where John and Evie were married, and where Thea was christened too—making it a place layered with love, celebration, and history. You can really feel that sense of gratitude they have for being able to raise their family somewhere so special.
Our shoot made the most of all the farm has to offer. We explored the orchard in full spring bloom, wandered along the farm track, spent time with the cows, and of course couldn’t miss including the tractor—an absolute must, and very fitting for John. Everything was kept relaxed and natural, letting moments unfold as they happened rather than forcing anything.
At their image viewing, they were completely overwhelmed—in the best possible way. They chose one of my favourite frame options: a large 11-in-1 frame, to sit alongside their digital images. Evie was so thrilled with the result she even sent me a photo of it hung on the wall which I'll pop above!
This session was about more than photos; it was about capturing a chapter in a long family story. A celebration of heritage, home, and the simple joy of being together on the land that means so much to them. 🌱🚜✨
