Toni and Polly

This gorgeous pair have the most heart warming story and such a strong connection that only images can truly show the bond that they share. Stabled at a yard close to me, I regularly pass them on my morning rides. Toni's loveable coloured mare Polly is actually a rescue pony and at 23 years young has now become a treasured part of Toni's family.

Toni had always dreamt of having a shoot with Polly before she retires her. When I spoke to Toni during her pre shoot consultation it was immediately clear how precious her little cob is. We discussed what to expect during the shoot, what to wear and potential locations we could use in.

The day of the shoot was dreamy, the sun was shinning and the daffodils in full bloom. We had so much fun and the yard had some beautiful spots to capture. We  started with the driveway and front paddock before discovering a beautiful little spot with a rustic gate and blossom- this is what photographers dreams are made of. It was a bit overgrown but Toni knew Polly would trust her and give it a go, Of course she walked in like a pro and posed like an absolute super star!

In true cob fashion we paused for a quick snack before having a bit of fun in the stable. Toni made the school girl error of telling a friend on the yard and myself that she actually had a tattoo of Polly on her back... obviously this meant it had to be in a photo with the real Polly.

​We finished the shoot with complimentary pony kisses from Polly and lots of smiles.

Polly had a tough start to life but has an absolute heart of gold and has now found her forever home. Toni has a demanding job and it was clear to see that Polly creates that time of peace and quiet...  Make sure you take a moment with your beloved horse and capture these quiet moments to reflect back on.
