LIFE through THE BLOG

The most beautiful time of the year!

31/10/2020

So following the announcement that Boris has made today, I am not going to be writing the blog that I had planned to this evening. In fact it's quite the opposite. Unfortunately I am now unable to photograph again for the next month as of Thursday due to the guidelines that have been put into place tonight. It is such a shame as this season is definitely one of my favourites to photograph. I have been lucky enough to be able to photograph lots of lovely ladies over the last couple of months and will continue to share these images with you as my way of sending a virtual smile to you all.
We will get to the end of this and there will be light at the end of the tunnel. This year has been exceptionally tough and I take my hat off to all the NHS staff, lorry drivers, farmers and all essential workers that have been continuing to do what they do despite all the challenges that have been thrown at them. As a small business, this year has certainly been a rollercoaster and a challenge, as it has been for all small business'. It is super important to keep supporting these business', not mine alone but your local shops, buy online or on social media from those local to you, buy vouchers for when we can service you or your loved ones again and most importantly keep spreading the word about what we all do!

Anyway, enough of the doom and gloom, I may not be able to photograph as many shoots as I was planning to this Autumn with lots of you booked in on the run up to Christmas (don't worry I will squeeze you all in even if it means a manic December!) but lets not forget to still enjoy this beautiful time of year. Appreciate the little things, the sun being out and the leaves changing colour. The satisfying crunch of the leaves as you turn the horses out and the smile your horse puts on your face. So so so many people's mental health has taken such a hit from this pandemic but I can honestly say your horse is your best friend to get you out of the house to be able to appreciate what you have around you. For those of us unable to work, it is a little like the world has been put on pause, the manic rush that is life is suddenly calmed and it's the perfect time to explore what we have outside our back doors. Go for your walk, take the dog out, go for a ride whatever it is that gives you a little bit of normality.

Admire the colours, the views, it's beautiful out there!

Most importantly stay safe xx

Hey or should I say hay!

I'm Sophie,  rural life photographer and lover of all things country and horses.
Creating beautiful photographs of you and the four legged love of your life is my absolute passion. As a keen horsewoman from the age of 3 years old, I can hand on heart say that horses are my favourite thing on this earth, closely followed by my love of capturing the connection between animals and their humans . I adore being out in the fresh air, enjoying all things country from tweed and fashion to long walks and views. Tell me more...
