LIFE through THE BLOG

The best season for a photoshoot?

31/12/2021

Believe it or not, every season is the perfect time for a photoshoot. Whether it's a warm summers day a crisp frost,  a bright spring morning or the last of the autumn sunshine. There is always something that will make your photo shoot totally beautiful.

Even a grey and cloudy day can make for some amazing images. This is actually one of my favourite lights to work with, it makes your skin look so beautiful. The clouds are just like a soft box, softening the light and getting rid of those harsh shadows.  So, if your shoot is on a grey day it's not a bad thing, it actually makes me super excited as it gives me the opportunity to experiment with lots of backdrops. A day like this is perfect for those of you who love to layer and gives you the chance to pull out your favourite coats, capes and jumpers.

Or how about those late summer evenings? Backlit shots create such gorgeous colours and skin tones. I will regularly plan summer shoots so that we can get that 'golden hour' glow. Summer evenings are perfect for anyone wanting to pull out some summer outfits and beautiful dresses.

So if you're looking for a photo shoot, remember I don't need bright sunshine or a clear day to make you and your horse look beautiful together. All we need is you, your horse and me!

Hey or should I say hay!

I'm Sophie,  rural life photographer and lover of all things country and horses.
Creating beautiful photographs of you and the four legged love of your life is my absolute passion. As a keen horsewoman from the age of 3 years old, I can hand on heart say that horses are my favourite thing on this earth, closely followed by my love of capturing the connection between animals and their humans . I adore being out in the fresh air, enjoying all things country from tweed and fashion to long walks and views. Tell me more...
