Beau & Daisy - The Wedding day

What a vibe!

On the 6th July, I had the pleasure of photographing the incredible wedding of local couple, Mr & Mrs Duggan. If I was to describe their day in 3 words it would have to be relaxed, fun and personal... what more could you want. Every single little detail had been thought of and there was such a personal stamp on the whole day.

For those of you who don't know, I thought I would give an insight into how Myself and Mum, Lucy work as a two man team throughout a typical wedding day with us. Depending on the couple and if they would like preparations photographed, I head straight to the Bride for lots of casual preparation shots, capturing hair, makeup and lots of little details. Meanwhile Lucy heads to the Groom to capture photographs of the rings, button holes and the boys having a bit of fun too!

After Bridal and groom prep, we head to the ceremony, Lucy stays with the groom so gets to the ceremony early and captures the guests and Bride arriving, once we arrive at the ceremony we are then a two person team and work in a well polished routine to capture all the best angles. In this instance,  we started the day at Glastonbury weddings and events for a beautiful ceremony filled with lots of smiles and happy tears.

During the ceremony, we are normally lead by the registrar who guides us with where we can or can't stand but when we can, I like to stand hidden at the front whilst Mum stands at the back to capture both perspectives and give variety in your images.

Post ceremony, we decided to face the wind for welcome drinks and some group photographs too!
Lucy and I, work alongside each other capturing the candid shots and slightly more formal group photographs for the family as well.

The tractor was such a sentimental part of the wedding... It was exactly the same tractor that took Daisy's parents to their wedding many moons ago!

We headed up the hill to the windmill for some quiet couple photographs before the chaos that begins at the ceremony. This time is so precious and probably the only quality time you get to spend together as husband and wife on your wedding day as the rest of the day flies by catching up with friends and family from all over the world.

Back at the reception, Mum was busy photographing the guests arriving whilst we were at the windmill and then once we were ready we headed to the farm where the new Mr & Mrs Duggan were welcomed with a cheer as they arrived on the tractor to all their friends and family in the sunshine.

Speeches were a thrill with the highs, lows and laughs of life and a special mention for those who could not be with us. The marquee looked incredible with every detail thought of and every corner filled with precious things and memories.

After a delicious meal in the sunshine, we had a giggle outside capturing some fun group shots...

and of course popped open the bottle of Prosecco too!

Alongside a lot of candid shots! These are genuinely my favourite photographs of every wedding day, simply having fun capturing moments as they happen. This was such a special day and it was a pleasure to feel so welcomed and have so much fun with an incredible bunch.

Hey or should I say hay!

I'm Sophie,  rural life photographer and lover of all things country and horses.
Creating beautiful photographs of you and the four legged love of your life is my absolute passion. As a keen horsewoman from the age of 3 years old, I can hand on heart say that horses are my favourite thing on this earth, closely followed by my love of capturing the connection between animals and their humans . I adore being out in the fresh air, enjoying all things country from tweed and fashion to long walks and views. Tell me more...
